How your child's money is invested

The Bounty Child Trust Fund is a stakeholder account and invests partly in shares to take advantage of the potentially higher returns on offer over the period of 18 years compared to the potential returns on offer from an interest bearing cash account. Of course, capital is protected in a deposit account whereas the value of shares can fall as well as rise and the child may get less than has been paid in.

Around your child's 13th birthday, the money will start to be invested less in shares and more in fixed interest and cash investments. This process is called "life-styling” and helps to protect the value of the account from any sudden fall in the stock market over the last few years until the child's 18th birthday.

Family Investments Child Trust Fund accounts are managed by New Star Asset Management – one of the UK's leading Asset Management companies and backed by some of the world's leading institutions and private investors.
